1 day Chimpanzee Tracking safari to Budongo Forest Reserve
This short Day Chimpanzee safari will take you to Budongo Forest Reserve to have a face-to-face encounter with human’s closest wild relation-the Chimpanzees. These awesome apes will surely fascinate you. Bundongo Forest is located in Western Uganda and it is a four hour drive from Kampala -Uganda’s Capital City. Budongo Forest is famed for its mahogany trees and a very big number of chimpanzees. It is home for approximately 700 chimpanzees.
Budongo Forest Reserve also boosts of its different wildlife species such as 359 bird species, 9 primate species, 289 butterfly species, 465 tree species and 24 mammal species.
Day 1: Your safari will start from your hotel in Kampala/ Entebbe. Your professional driver guide will pick you up and together with him you hit the road towards Budongo Forest for Chimpanzee tracking. You will have lots of great photo opportunities along the road. Please feel free to ask your driver guide to stop and you capture photos of the beautiful hills, plantations, and many more.
Upon arrival, you will have your lunch and have a briefing by your ranger guide about Budongo Forest and all you need to know about Chimpanzee trekking. Immediately after this activity, you will proceed for chimpanzee trekking. You will join your very knowledgeable and skilled rangers who will take you through the whole exercise. Together with the rangers, you will enter the mahogany forest and start off your fascinating activity- tracking the chimps. Have an opportunity to interact and see the Chimps up close.
Look out for other wildlife and bird life here. Please do not forget to take your very memorable photos of the chimpanzees. After your day chimpanzee trek, you will join your driver guide and transfer back to Kampala/ Entebbe reaching later in the evening.
