4 Days fly in safari to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for gorilla trekking
This 4 days flying gorilla trekking safari takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park that is situated in South Western Uganda using scheduled flights that land at either Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip.
Rumara Safaris’ fly to Bwindi gorilla trekking safari is specially designed for travellers who really want to have an encounter with the awesome mountain gorillas but cannot take the long drive from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. You will have an opportunity to get aerial views of the beautiful land scape and the rich green cover as you get close to the national park.
Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe airport and transfer to your Lodge.
Upon arrival at Entebbe airport, you will be warmly received by one of our representatives who will be already waiting for you. You will then be transferred to your lodge in Entebbe to relax as you prepare for your flight the next day.
Day 2: Transfer from Entebbe to Kihihi – Buhoma
Today our representative will pick you up from your hotel in Entebbe and transfer you to Entebbe airport for your flight to Kihihi airstrip. There are two scheduled flights (7: 15 am and 12:15 pm). We can book for you one that is convenient for you and can fit you well. On arrival to Kihihi airstrip, you will be picked up by our ground safari guide who will drive you to your accommodation in one of our very confortable safari vehicles. You will then check in for your lunch, dinner and accommodation
Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Today is the day for your gorilla trek. You will have an early morning breakfast and then your safari guide will drive you to the park headquarters for a briefing just before your trekking encounter. You will track one of Bwindi’s habituated family groups that can tolerate the presence of humans for a brief period of time per day.
You will also have an opportunity to enjoy Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park’s exceptional beauty. The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous trails allowing access to travellers.
Seeing the gorillas in Bwindi is guaranteed simply because their movements are always closely monitored by the forest rangers. It should however be noted that the exact time taken while trekking these magnificent primates is hard to predict since it depends on their movements and the location of some families since some stay really far from the headquarters. The gorilla trekking encounter tends to last 2 to 8 hours inclusive of the one hour direct encounter with these awesome primates. Coming face to face with the gorillas can be a very exciting, emotional and humbling experience. It is a fantastic opportunity to get up close and personal with Uganda’s very own gorillas. Watching the apes as they forage, socialize the young ones rolling themselves on the tree branches and the silverback demonstrating his authority is a moment of wonder that derives great excitement
After your trek, you will head back to the headquarters to pick your gorilla trekking certificates and then either proceed for a community walk or transfer back to your lodge for relaxation.
Day 4: Fly to Entebbe
Today after your morning breakfast, you will be transferred back to Kihihi airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe airport.
