Overview

The 3 Days Gorilla safari is the shortest gorilla safari that takes you to Bwindi to discover the endangered Uganda gorillas. You shall have an outstanding moments in the presence of these gentle giants.

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will be picked up by our guide from the airport/your hotel in Entebbe/Kampala/Kigali after an early morning breakfast at 07:00hrs.

You will be directed about the whole 3 Days Gorilla safari before you travel to Bwindi Impenetrable which is found in the southwestern part of Uganda. Along the way there is a local drum and craft-making community so you will have a visit here.

Then a stopover at the Equator to take fascinating photos, also feel free to buy some crafts and souvenirs as you head to Mbarara town where you will have your lunch from. Afterward, continue to Bwindi whereby you will arrive in the late afternoon. Check in at the lodge, relax in the evening, and have Dinner.

Day 2: Do gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for an evening relaxation and overnight
After breakfast, gather at the respective park headquarters for briefing at 8am and eventually start gorilla tour trekking encounter. You follow the trails of your respective gorilla family traversing the forest with a hilly forested landscapes and deep saddles.

The hills are forested with mature trees and dense undergrowth that have earned it the name Impenetrable. During the 3 Days Gorilla safari, gorilla trackers are advised to carry rain coats as well as boots since the weather is always unpredictable.

There are also potters who carry the luggage on behalf of the guests at a small cost. Getting one is highly recommended. Once you come face to face with these gorillas, the rangers will also guide you on how to handle them most especially by giving them a 6-meter distance as you play around with them. Kindly note that it’s also not so easy to predict the time to be taken while trekking and this will mainly depend on the location of some families since some stay really far from the headquarters.

The gorilla trekking encounter tends to last 2 – 8 hours inclusive of one (1) hour direct encounter with them. Seeing the critically endangered apes as they forage, and socialize, the young gorillas rolling themselves on tree branches and the Silverback demonstrating his authority is a moment of wonder that derives remarkable excitement. After the trek, you will proceed for a community walk or a nature walk in the afternoon. Later on, get back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day3: Transfer back to Kampala
After having an early breakfast, Check-out and start your journey back to Kampala passing through rolling hills with terraces and also you will have a great time viewing the lush vegetation of the different areas you will go through.

Have lunch in Mbarara and another stop will be at Mbambire drum makers point. After purchasing some of these drums, continue to Kampala arriving late afternoon. The guide will drop you off to the hotel or at the airport to catch your flight back home.
